Note: This Masi Morning is part of a three-day August series. Families may attend one, two, or all three Mondays. Each participating child will need a separate ticket for each gathering.
Masi Mornings are small bilingual learning gatherings that give families another opportunity during the week to practice Spanish through stories, art, movement, and play.
Designed for preschool and early elementary learners, with activities adapted for different ages and developmental stages. Younger children and older siblings are welcome, too!
August’s Theme: En el Huerto 🌱
During our second August gathering, we’ll continue discovering gardens, plants, and growing through a new set of playful, hands-on bilingual activities.
Children will:
Participate in an interactive bilingual circle and story time
Build upon garden vocabulary through songs, movement, and conversation
Engage in sensory play and garden-inspired learning activities
Create an art piece inspired by our En el Huerto theme
Practice early-learning skills through conversation, exploration, and play
Spanish will be woven naturally throughout the morning. Children do not need to speak Spanish to participate!
Families are welcome whether this is their first Masi Morning or they joined us on August 17. Each gathering offers a complete experience while connecting to our shared monthly theme.

🎨 August 31 + Art Show: [Registration link]
Families attending all three August gatherings may choose to have their child’s artwork saved and displayed together during our August 31 art show.
Our August Art Celebration 🎨
On Day 3, Monday, August 31, we’ll bring the pieces together for a small, Reggio Emilia-inspired art show. Children will see their work thoughtfully displayed and have an opportunity to show their families what they created, revisit their experiences, and share what they remember in their own way.
Families will take their child’s complete art collection home after the celebration.
If your child is attending only one or two dates, their artwork can go home with them at the end of each gathering.

Participation Notes
Each child must attend with a parent or trusted adult caregiver who remains for the entire gathering.
The attending grown-up is responsible for their child’s care, safety, bathroom needs, behavior, and participation throughout the morning. Masi Collective facilitates the learning experience, but Masi Morning is not a drop-off program and individual childcare is not provided.
Please dress children for outdoor, hands-on play. Clothing and shoes may come into contact with water, soil, paint, grass, or other sensory materials.
Secure, play-friendly shoes are recommended.
Please bring a labeled water bottle and any personal, medical, or comfort items your child may need (i.e. sun hats, sunblock, etc.)
About Our Gathering Space
Masi Mornings take place in an active family backyard that has been arranged for children’s learning and play. The space includes natural and built outdoor features such as grass, patio areas, garden beds, mulch, gravel, steps, outdoor furniture, play equipment, plants, insects, and naturally uneven areas.
Some activities may include gardening, digging, climbing, water exploration, movement, art materials, or loose natural pieces.
Grown-ups should use their knowledge of their child to determine which activities are appropriate and provide support whenever needed.
Caring for the Space
We ask families to help us care for the home and learning environment by:
Keeping children within the areas prepared for Masi Morning
Using materials and equipment as they are introduced
Helping children care for the garden and shared supplies
Following safety reminders provided during the gathering
Respecting the privacy of the home and neighboring families
The inside of the home and any closed-off outdoor areas are not part of the gathering space. Information about restroom access will be shared upon arrival.
Health & Individual Needs
Please share any allergies, medical needs, accessibility needs, developmental considerations, or other information that may help your child participate comfortably during registration.
Masi Collective will prepare when reasonably possible, but the gathering space cannot be guaranteed to be free of specific foods, plants, insects, or other allergens.
The attending grown-up is responsible for carrying and administering any medication or emergency supplies their child may require.
Please sit out a Masi Morning if you or your child have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a new unexplained rash, or symptoms associated with a known contagious illness.
Weather Plans
Because much of our morning happens outdoors, activities may be modified or the gathering may be postponed or canceled when weather or backyard conditions prevent us from meeting comfortably and safely.
Weather-related updates will be sent to registered families by text or email.
Liability Waiver
Every participating family must review and accept Masi Collective’s Liability Waiver and the acknowledgments included during registration.
Registration confirms that the attending adult understands the nature of the gathering, accepts responsibility for supervising their child, and agrees to follow the guidance provided for the activities and space.
Photography
Families will select their photography preference during registration.
Photos and brief video clips may be used to share Masi Collective through our website, social media, newsletters, and community materials. Children will not be identified by name.
Families who decline photography are equally welcome, and their preference will be honored throughout the morning.
Nuestra Comunidad
Masi is built around belonging, culture, curiosity, and friendship.
By attending, families agree to:
Treat children and grown-ups with warmth and respect
Support their child through transitions and big feelings
Use shared materials with care
Follow guidance when a safety concern arises
Request permission before sharing photos or videos of another child
If a child needs additional support, we may invite the family to pause or reset together.
Masi Collective reserves the right to end a family’s participation if behavior creates an ongoing or immediate safety concern.
